Clearly SEGA seem to think that now is a great time to announce the latest in the Sonic 4 series – a very odd decision given that we’re in-between Xmas and New Year and everyone’s probably busy playing the games they were given, stuffing their face with leftovers and worrying about 2012 bearing down on us.
Nevertheless, announce it they have (via Gamespot, as the above video shows) and it promises a few changes
Apparently they’ve been listening to the fans which means Episode 2 will including a new physics engine (a major problem with the first release) and new graphics. Metal Sonic will be the villain and Tails is also making a return.
The video above only shows (along with some `hilarious` facial hair) the briefest of teasers around the 1:16 mark, so there’s no actual gameplay footage of all this yet.
Additionally they’ve only confirmed a PSN and XBLA release – WiiWare hasn’t been mentioned and while that might seem a little odd, I’d be willing to bet that has something to do with the launch of WiiU some time next year.
