Stop the press! No really, because out today on WiiWare in Europe it’s Cricket Challenge for 500 Points.
Cricket Challenge is an arcade style sports game that gives you a fun filled experience while playing as a batsman in a street version of cricket. Using the Wii Remote as a real cricket bat you can swing and control all the actions of a batsman to make him play strokes, hit boundaries, slog sixes and try a variety of other shots.
The game is set-up in a playground surrounded by an urban environment with buildings, apartments and a lush green outfield giving a casual feel to the game.
Produced by the almost unpronounceable GameShastra (Gazuntite!) you can be certain that it will be worthy of downlo… oh who am I kidding I can’t even fake that this another title that’s probably best overlooked on WiiWare.
And continuing the crapfest (quite literally) is My Little Baby for 600 Points. As the official blurb says:
Have you always dreamed of having a cute little baby to lovingly care for? Well now is your chance. A little virtual cherub will now be yours to look after and you will need to change, bathe and feed your baby as part of your duties, as well as shopping, preparing meals and rocking your baby to sleep.
To be honest though Nintendo, most people who’ve dreamed of having a cute little baby to care for and use WiiWare are probably already parents to several real kids and living on benefits on a council estate. And virtual cherubs?! Ask any real parent if their child is a little angel and you’ll probably get a response that is the exact opposite.
Moving onto DSiWare there’s Pucca Noodle Rush and Puzzle to Go Planets and Universe (seriously, who comes up with these ridiculous titles?!) for 500 Points each, while Faceez: Monsters! is available for 200 Points. It must be cool kids, it’s spelt in street slang…
Perhaps the only redeeming feature this week ones again comes from the Virtual Console and Natsume Championship Wrestling for 900 Points. Slop hand clap for Ninty, who once again are saved by a game which is coming up to twenty years old…
