IGN have the first look at Housemarque’s upcoming PSN and XBLA title, Outland.
The Dead Nation / Super Stardust HD developer looks to be trying something a little different with this release, as it’s a 2D platformer and desribed as:
a cross between retro platformers like Prince of Persia or Out of This World and the color-switching of shoot ‘em up Ikaruga.
That’s a pretty eclectic mix if ever there was one. From reading it I’m surprised there’s no mention of Shadow of the Colossus as the Golem bosses it describes certainly sound very similar.
You can head over to IGN to read the article and see images of the game – it isn’t coming until 2011 but it already looks and sounds like one to watch.
Expect an official reveal at this weekend’s PAX Prime event when hopefully we’ll get to see it in action.
