Dead Space Planet Cracker coming to PSN / XBLA?

Perhaps, according to Kotaku. They’ve seen sight of a survey trying to gauge interest in a PSN / XBLA release that will tie in with EA’s upcoming sequel to their successful horror franchise.

In a similar fashion to Fable II’s Pub Games which saw they player being able to earn in-game gold before the title launched, playing Planet Cracker may unlocked rewards in Dead Space 2. Described as a “resource strategy game where players will manage a CEC Mining operation,” players must “maximize their daily profit” and “defend their hard-won ore from Space Pirates.”

Not only that, but the survey seems to suggest that EA are considering a HD version of Dead Space: Extraction for the download services. The on rails shooter for the Wii apparently tanked pretty hard if the sales talk on the Internet is to be believed. That, despite it being a pretty nice expansion of the Dead Space universe and enjoyed by fans who played it.

Of course these are all still rumours right now and it doesn’t mean that they’ll ever come about, but not only to the games sound interesting but it’s nice to see other companies toying with the idea of more tie in releases on the download services. Fable II Pub Games didn’t get it quite right, so it’ll be interesting to see if EA run with the idea more successfully.
