Nintendo to launch Connection Ambassador Promotion

WiiWare

In a bid to get more people on the WiiWare bandwagon, Nintendo have announced they’re soon to start the Connection Ambassador Promotion in Europe.

The scheme is similar to the one that launched in Japan recently and, behind the grandiose title, the idea is quite simple;  Help a new customer connect their Wii console to WiiWare and you receive 500 Wii Points (which is around £3.50 / €5).  But it doesn’t stop there. Help 10 recruits and you’ll become a Connection Master Gold, unlocking all of Nintendo’s first-party NES games on Virtual Console.

Reach the maximum of 20 recruits, however and you reach Platinum status, meaning you get any first party NES, SNES and N64 games made by Nintendo for free. You’ll also have racked up a whopping 10,000 Wii Points, which is around the £70 / €100 mark.

It’s an innovative incentive to get people to take part and it’ll be interesting to see how it does when the scheme is launched next month.
