It’s certainly one of the more `unusual` directions that the King of Fighters series has taken, but it really is being turned into a Shmup. Famitsu have the latest screens for the title, the first new media since it was revealed in the earlier part of the year.
So far the game is confirmed to be coming to the XBLA while any other platforms have yet to be confirmed. But there’s no real reason at this stage why it couldn’t feasibly come to other platforms too.
