Icarian gets a name change

Icarian - WiiWare

NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits. No, not a sequel to the very-well-received Icarian: Kindred Spirits, but a name change. Released in Europe last week as Icarian, the game will from now on be known as NyxQuest. Developer Over the Top Games was brief in its statement, and gave no reason for the change.

In a few days, and by shear desire of the gods, our game will change its name…forever…

The Oracle has decided to reward the feat of our heroine with a new name: NyxQuest

So, what’s the reason? Who knows, but Gameforge’s Ikariam was titled remarkably similarly, and a conflict there would be easy to imagine. You’d certainly expect Nintendo to have noticed the Kid Icarus resemblance. We may never know…

NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits is available now on the European WiiWare service, for 1000 Nintendo Points.
