Derby based Strawdog Studios have today announced their new title Space Ark, previously titled Bounce.
The premise is simple, a black hole has destroyed various planets in the galaxy and in its wake left them shattered into pieces. The main cast of space travelling animals, known as Arkonauts have been sent aboard the Space Ark to bring life back to these broken planets by collecting DNA of previous inhabitants. This is all done in a very unique gameplay mixture which Strawdog Studios have described as “a fun homage to the bright and bouncy arcade games of the late 80′s, such as Rainbow Island and Arkanoid with an added mix of Pinball”
Certainly looking very “bright and bouncy” the game will feature 180 levels spread across 5 worlds with a total of 24 Arkonauts to choose from, a host of power ups to aid you in your space quest and 5 mini games will also be available for multiplayer.
Space Ark will be coming to Xbox Live Arcade in Q3 2009 so look out for more updates on this title in the coming months.
