D3 have announced that the star of the upcoming satirical PS3 / Xbox 360 game ,`Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard`, will be getting some tie in games for the PSN and XBLA.
The premise for the disc based release is the return of a fictional classic 80′s videogame character who’s trying to figure out why someone wants him dead and struggling to adapt to the way games have changed.
In line with the games wry sense of humour, the downloadable titles will pretend to be the original 80′s games in which Hazard was supposed to have sprung to fame. It’s certainly a clever idea for a title which looks like it will, if nothing else, give a good laugh from poking fun of videogame genres and clichés.
No firm details are known yet about the downloadable titles. Although Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard is due next month, the PSN and XBLA games aren’t expected until this summer.
