May is almost upon us and Koei Interactive have announced that the merry, merry month will see Fatal Intertia Ex hitting the PSN.
The Wipeout-style futuristic racer was originally slated as a PS3 release but was rumoured to have been cancelled, coming out on the 360 in the final quarter of 2007 instead.
Now the game is back and the EX version will have new tracks and features, costing around £15 ($30 / 20 EUR) when it launches towards the latter part of month.

Following on from the announcement for Zombie Wranglers, Sierra have announced a handful of other titles coming to the Live Arcade.
First up is Gin Rummy the classic card game, which will support four player games over Xbox Live.
The second is Sea Life Safari which looks like a cross between Pokemon Snap and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
Both games are scheduled for release some time in Summer 2008.

Sierra have lifted the shroud from a new Live Arcade title - Zombie Wranglers. And while there’s plenty of zombies, there’s not a pair of jeans in sight…
Looking like a cartoony cross between Ghostbusters and Day of The Dead, the player must save their home town of Potters Field from a nasty zombie infestation. Very much tongue in cheek the game will feature:
4 Distinct and Powerful Wranglers – unique upgradeable abilities, powerful weapons and screwball personalities.
Unrelenting Enemies – Including the grotesque Fast-Food Zombie, the fast-on-its-feet Skater Zombie and the loving Soccer Mom Zombie
Exhilarating 4 Player Co-op – Play with up to 3 of your friends through the Single Player Story or competitive Arena Mode (online or off)
The game has a launch date of sometime in 2008.

May 14th on XBLA if you want us to be precise.

Over on the official Playstation Blog Echochrome’s Associate Producer, Kumi Yuasa, has confirmed that the US Playstation Store will be getting the Echochrome demo as part of this Thursday’s update.
It was sort of announced that the full game would be released some time in May, so the availability of the demo today would help support that (althoiugh quite why it’s taking them so long to release the full game is anyone’s guess).
As an aside, Yuasa also announced that Echochrome wallpapers would be made availiable soon, so you can look forward to pimping out your PS3 in full minimalistic glory.

[Update: According to Joystiq the game's creator Dylan Fitterer contatced them to confirm it's nothing but a big old communication breakdown. Shame, but hopefully it's planted the idea in his mind...]
Various online sources are reporting that the latest issue of UK gaming publication GamesTM (issue 69) have listed Audiosurf as coming soon to the XBLA.
The info comes from an article covering the games PC release and says:
“Audiosurf…released via Steam to PC users and soon on Xbox Live Arcade”
So unless this is a serious mix up by the usually reliable mag, it seems like good news for Audiosurf fans or those who had been hoping for a console port.
If at this point you’re wondering why you should care, here’s exactly why direct from the games official description.
Ride your music.
Audiosurf is a music-adapting puzzle racer where you use your own music to create your own experience. The shape, the speed, and the mood of each ride is determined by the song you choose. You earn points for clustering together blocks of the same color on the highway, and compete with others on the internet for the high score on your favorite songs.
If this has already piqued your interest, head over to the games official site at audio-surf.com where you can download a demo.

As we announced earlier this week, for your enjoyment this week on XBLA is Dr Reiner Knizia’s Lost Cities. Or just plain old Lost Cities to me and you.
The game is availiable to download now for 800 MS Points.

The issue of game ratings and content has raged long and hard over the last few years and been mired in controversy.
With Downloadable Content now becoming a regular feature for games it seems that the American Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ERSB) stirred up some controversy last week when it was reported that any DLC for a game could not exceed it’s original rating. While the potential of that happening seemed quite rare, it put a lot of people into a spin (no doubt due to the impending release of that pesky GTA4).
Now the ESRB have clarified that isn’t actually the case and that a game can get a different rating for its DLC providing it’s resubmitted for rating.
ESRB President Patricia Vance said:
“Companies are free to offer downloadable content to their games as long as the pertinent content is the same as the core product. If it isn’t, they have to submit it to the ESRB… If the downloadable content earns a more restrictive (higher) age rating, and it is of an optional nature, it must display the new rating prior to the user downloading it. The core product’s rating won’t change, unless the new downloadable content is part of a required patch, as is typically the case with MMOs that must be patched in order to play.”
While that seems totally fair, it goes some way to showing how heated and complicated games ratings and systems have become.

Sony have announced that there’s been a(nother) delay in the public launch of the PSN’s Home service.
In a statement issued today Sony’s Kaz Hirai said:
“We have come to the conclusion that we need more time to refine the service to ensure a more focused gaming entertainment experience than what it is today”
and explained that we can expect the open Beta to start at some point this year (but declined to give a time frame). However it was revealed that the closed Beta would now be extended until the summer, which could be a big hint as to a potential launch window.
In other news it was also hinted elsewhere that Sony’s online movie service would launch in the US this summer.
